Spotting the Letter X

X is one of the three hardest letters in the game, alongside Q and Z. X-ing Sign, the game's own example, is actually the smartest strategy — very few other roadside words start with X at all.

Most players end up solving X entirely through abbreviated signage rather than a whole word, which is worth knowing going in so you don't waste time searching for something that doesn't really exist on most roads.
