Spotting the Letter Q
Q is one of the three hardest letters in the game, right alongside X and Z. The game's own example, Quarry, isn't something you pass every day, so most players end up solving Q through brand names instead.
Don't burn time waiting for a literal quarry to appear — the fastest route is almost always a business sign, and once you know which chains to watch for, this letter stops feeling impossible.
Common Things to Spot
- "Quick" branded gas station or oil-change shop (QuikTrip, Quick Lube)
- Quiznos or similar Q-named chain
- Quilt shop sign (small towns)
Rarer Finds Worth Watching For
- An actual quarry, usually marked by dump trucks and a chain-link perimeter
- Quail crossing sign (rural Southwest)
- Quaint bed-and-breakfast sign
Spotting Tip
Don't hold out for a literal quarry — scan business signage instead. Gas station and oil-change chains that start with 'Quick' are far more common and will solve this letter much faster.
Fun Fact
Q is one of the least-used letters to start English words, which is exactly why the alphabet game treats it as a late-trip letter — most players don't clear it until they've been watching for a while, often not until the drive is nearly over.
For Younger Players
This is a tough one for young kids since it depends on reading business names. Let an older kid or adult handle Q, or turn on "Show Hints" so everyone can see the example word together.
